That's so true. I love the second quote. So many people search for truth all backwards--they shape their worldview, and what they will or will not accept as Truth based on Comfort. If it's not a happy thought, or if it doesn't serve their comfort, then they don't accept it. They end up as unhappy, mixed-up people with nothing really true at the end of the day-vapid minds, full of nonsense.
